Why do the charts say they use "Estimated" numbers?

Modified on Mon, 8 Jul, 2024 at 2:41 PM

The Draft2Digital charts use estimated numbers which are totaled from the Buy Now clicks from buyers. This does not necessarily mean a buyer completes that transaction after clicking BUY NOW, however, the chart is still going to reflect a sale.

Royalty reports are showing the actual amount sent to us by the vendor store site. This is the amount of money they have received in royalties for your book titles, which is a reflection of the final, completed transactions.
Any sales that showed up at the end of the month will not be paid out until the following month, so long as those sales do get finalized by the buyer.

All of our vendors only pay out transactions that "closed out" during their reporting period, so it is frequently the case that sales that fall at the end of the month are reporting as part of your online sales, but not reflected in your payment. If the transaction has not completely closed out and finalized, it will be reported on the following month's pay cycle.

The monthly charts are very good at predicting trends and helping you determine the effectiveness of your marketing efforts, however they should never be used for accounting purposes, as it is the final month end numbers provided that gets paid out to you by the vendor store sites, and only these numbers can be used for fiscal accounting.
