The European Union (EU) has introduced a regulation called General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), the goal of which is to protect consumers and ensure products are labeled and marketed accurately. This applies to almost all products sold in the EU, except food. This includes books.
Draft2Digital’s print partner will be handling all compliance issues required by this law. Neither the author nor D2D will need to do anything to be in compliance with GPSR.
For more details, we’ve supplied the following questions and answers you may have:
Will Draft2Digital need me to add a name/address for the “responsible person(s)” to our print books?
No. Our print partner will be listed as the responsible person(s) and so no information or action is needed from you to address this requirement.
Who's name and address will be identified as the "responsible person(s)" required by GPSR?
Our print partner is the manufacturer and they will be the responsible party for all products that are exclusively printed by them. You do not need to list your own address or identify yourself as the responsible person when working with D2D Print. NOTE: If you also utilize other printers for your books, you will need to check with them about their GPSR policies.
Where will the "responsible person(s)" information be located in my book?
The responsible person(s) information will be added to the manufacturing information on the last page. NOTE: The address will change based on the print facility where your book is printed.
Is an update needed on my book(s) for me to be in compliance? Will I need to use a Print Token for this?
There is no need for you to make an update to your book and no Print Token will be consumed for this update. This requirement went into effect on 12/12/2024 and has already been taken care of on your behalf.
