Looking to boost your ebook sales throughout the year? Here's a breakdown of our annual Smashwords sales events that help put your books in front of a wider audience of eager readers.
As soon as the enrollment period begins (typically a few weeks before the event), you may enroll in these sales via the pop-up on your My Books Dashboard.
Smashwords store sales are coupon-based, so the discount levels you set for the sale are for the Smashwords store only and do not impact your retail prices at other stores. You can set your discount levels to “25% off”, “50% off”, “75% off”, or “100% off”.
Read an Ebook Week (first full week of March)
Read an Ebook Week was founded by Smashwords author Rita Toews in 2004 and is the longest-running international celebration of ebooks and the readers who love them. It’s also longest-running Smashwords sale, going all the way back to 2009.
Summer/Winter Sale (yearly in July)
Whether you’re enjoying the Northern Hemisphere heat or you’re bundling up in the Southern Hemisphere, Smashwords runs an annual sale to combat the mid-year slump!
End of Year Sale (from mid-December to 1st of Jan)
With Christmas money in their pockets and time off from work, historically, we see ebook sales soar in December. Be sure to enroll in this sale to finish the year strong.
