Can Draft2Digital help me make an audiobook?

Draft2Digital does not produce or publish audiobooks.

We offer ebook and print creation and publication through Draft2Digital. We have; however, partnered with 2 different companies to cover some potential author needs for audiobooks.

Findaway Voices allows interested authors to distribute their complete and edited audio files.

Much like Draft2Digital, Findaway Voices acts as the distributor that ingests, submits, and publishes your audiobooks for you. Findaway will also be the vendor that tracks and reports your audiobook sales to you through the account you establish with Findaway Voices.

Draft2Digital's only involvement is to connect you with a trusted Audiobook partner to allow you to get more information about Findaway Voices and what they offer. You would then need to take that a step further and sign up for an account with Findaway, agree to their ToS, and go through all their steps for pricing and publication of the completed audiobook files you plan to provide to them.

Meaning once we connect you to their website, our involvement in the audiobook process ends. We do not offer an upload or publication pathway for audiobook files created through other services, just a link to an audiobook vendor that can further assist you with audiobook publication.

Apple Books allows interested authors to upload an eligible manuscript that they then produce as a digitally narrated audiobook.

Draft2Digital facilitates the delivery of your choice of digital voice, along with the eligible manuscript, to the Apple Books' digital narration team. From there, the Apple team will produce the files meant for sale on the Apple Books platform, and make the files available for purchase upon completion. Draft2Digital does not have any say on the order in which books are produced, proofing, or pronunciation/emphasis of the spoken media. At this time, Apple Books is not charging for this digital narration service.

Please note that at this time very limited genres have been tested for this service and therefore only a couple of BISACs are enabled. We hope that the service will be a hit and that testing and expansion of the service will happen soon so that more and more authors can take advantage.

Digitally Narrated Audiobook production takes on average 3-4 weeks before your audiobook will become available for sale after publishing. If your book is unable to complete conversion due to technical requirements, your audiobook will not be released. Please note that no audio samples or previews will be made available for review before release.
