If you are publishing on Kindle KDP and also selecting Amazon as a vendor through D2D. This is called "double listing," where you have the same product reaching the same store site through two different sources. Every vendor we work with strictly prohibits this practice.
However, you are welcome to submit through Amazon KDP (reaches Amazon) and also use D2D to publish to all the other vendor partner sites, https://www.draft2digital.com/partners/ excluding Amazon. The final step of publishing through D2D involves you checking off each vendor you want us to submit your book to, and you'd simply not check the Amazon box.
The second thing to consider is that when creating an account with Amazon KDP, they have two membership options, and one of those options requires you submit to Amazon exclusively. Amazon Select, also known as Kindle Unlimited requires you to provide your book exclusively to Amazon, which means submitting to Amazon on your Amazon account AND publishing to our vendor partners through D2D would put you in violation of Amazon's Terms of Service.
More information on the difference between KDP and KDP Select here:
Draft2Digital does not require exclusivity, so the second consideration is strictly one you need to be aware so as to not encounter problems with Amazon (who will withhold all royalties owed to you if they decide you have violated their ToS).
NOTE: Please be aware that in order to list your book at Amazon through Draft2Digital, you must complete the Amazon checklist.
