The Also By page is a powerful author marketing tool and author strategy. At its heart, the Also By page is a list of every book published by an author (or an author’s pen name). It makes it easy for readers to discover more books by the same author, and (best of all) gives them a direct link to where they can buy those books. Best of all, Draft2Digital can automatically update your Also By pages, on your behalf and in all of your books, so they are always up to date with your latest works.
When you check the box that allows Draft2Digital to generate an Also By page for you, we add a page to the epub that we generate for stores that shows every book your author name has submitted through our site. This page holds site-specific, clickable links for your books.
This means that the file we generate for Apple will only have links to your books for sale at Apple. An Apple reader can click the title of another one of your books on the D2D generated Also By page and be taken directly to the Apple sales page for that book. The epub file we generate for Barnes&Noble will only have links to your book sales pages at B&N, and so on.
If you download a test epub file from our site, you will see the Also By page, but the links will just be generic Draft2Digital links, as this is not the unique epub we are creating for each individual store site. We generate unique epubs once you select which stores you want to submit your book to, and click Submit. We then will make specific epubs for every individual store's website.
Keep in mind when you add an also by page, it will only link books with the same author (pen name). This way if you write in more than one genre and you keep these authors separate by name, the system will only pull books from the same author name's works to add to the also by pages.
