How to schedule a preorder.

To schedule a preorder, start a new book project and select a release date that is in the future when you are filling out the Details page —This works the same regardless of if you are setting up an ebook or a print book— then proceed through the rest of the publishing process as normal.

Best Practices:

If you do not have a book cover or finalized manuscript, you must select a date more than 10 days from today.
No NOT upload placeholder files.
Print books cannot be scheduled for more than 1 year out from their intended release date.

Step1: Click ADD NEW BOOK

Step 2: Fill out all shared metadata, save, and continue to the Details page.

Step 3: Set your release date to a date in the future.

Note: Print preorders are not allowed to be set more than 1 year out from today's date.

Step 4: SAVE & CONTINUE through to the end of the publishing process and click PUBLISH.

We recommend you click SAVE & CONTINUE on each page of your ebook publishing process to be sure all changes are saved to your book project.

Be sure to submit every time you make an update or change anywhere in the ebook publishing process. There is no cost to update an ebook.

Submitting changes to your print book may require a change token.

A successfully submitted preorder that has both a manuscript and a book cover loaded and saved will show this message on the ebook tab.

(You should see the release date that you set on the DETAILS step, rather than the example date of March 3, 2025)

If you have not submitted your cover and/or manuscript you will see different messages warning you about how many days are left until your release date.
